There are two dates to keep separate. Registration is required by November 13, 2026, while the earning period runs from September 22 through November 22, 2026. Registering early is the simpler move because it removes one avoidable failure point before travel. After registering, verify that the intended stay falls inside the earning window and will be completed under an eligible paid rate. A booking made during the promotion is not enough by itself; the accepted terms focus on eligible paid stays completed in the stated period after registration. Which Marriott stays do not earn the promotion bonus

The promotion is built around eligible paid stays, so several common ways to book a Marriott night are outside the offer. Award Redemption Stays do not qualify, and neither do Cash + Points bookings, Free Night Awards or points redemptions. Most rates booked through third-party online retailers are also excluded. The terms identify additional excluded property types, so membership in the broader Marriott portfolio does not guarantee that a particular property participates. The promotion also counts only one room at one property per stay. Booking extra rooms under one member's name should not be treated as a way to multiply the bonus without confirming the live terms.

When the Marriott stay promotion is worth considering

This promotion is easiest to use when a paid Marriott stay of at least two nights already fits your travel plans. In that case, registration and an eligibility check may add points without changing the trip. The resort bonus can make a participating resort stay more rewarding, but 3,000 extra points should not override a higher room price, an inconvenient location or a rate that does not qualify. Compare the full cash cost and cancellation terms of the stay you would book anyway. If an award stay or Free Night Award is the better choice for your trip, the fact that it does not earn this promotion should not automatically push you toward paying cash.
