The Chase Sapphire Reserve's main hotel benefit is The Edit credit, booked through Chase Travel. Through December 31, 2026, the card also carries a separate select hotels credit with its own rules, so each is covered on its own below.

This guide quotes the Sapphire Reserve terms on Chase's website as of September 30, 2026. The terms shown in your own Chase account decide what qualifies, so check them before you book.

How The Edit credit works

Chase says Sapphire Reserve cardmembers "receive a statement credit of up to $250 for each prepaid booking with The Edit, up to $500 annually." The Edit is Chase Travel's collection of luxury hotels and resorts.

Each stay needs a two-night minimum, and Chase states that purchases that qualify will not earn points. The $500 limit runs on the calendar year, January 1 through December 31, so two qualifying bookings in the same year use the full amount.

What a qualifying The Edit booking needs

The booking has to be prepaid and made through The Edit in Chase Travel. A reservation made directly with the hotel, or a Chase Travel booking outside The Edit, is a different purchase and should not be counted on for this credit.

Book at least two nights on each reservation. A one-night stay does not meet the minimum Chase lists, even at a hotel in The Edit. Because each booking can return up to $250, a booking that costs less than $250 uses only part of that booking's allowance.

Pay with the Sapphire Reserve itself. Expect the statement credit to post after the charge, and keep the confirmation until it does.

The $250 select hotels credit

Separately, Chase offers Sapphire Reserve cardmembers "up to $250 in statement credits through 12/31/26 on prepaid Chase Travel hotel bookings for stays with IHG Hotels & Resorts, Montage Hotels & Resorts, Pendry Hotels & Resorts, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts."

The same basics apply: the booking must be prepaid through Chase Travel, a two-night minimum is required, and qualifying purchases do not earn points. Chase lists this credit apart from The Edit credit, and its terms end on December 31, 2026.

Track it as its own entry, separate from The Edit credit. The two have different amounts, eligible hotels and end dates, and mixing them makes it easy to think one is used when only the other is.

Plan The Edit credit around the calendar year

The Edit credit follows the calendar year rather than your card's anniversary. Whatever you have not used by December 31 does not help you after the new limit starts on January 1, so plan the stays you actually want early in the year instead of rushing a booking in December.

If a trip is uncertain, check the booking's cancellation terms before you prepay. A prepaid rate can be harder to change, and a canceled or refunded booking may reverse the statement credit it earned.

Track the credit so it does not lapse

Record the allowance, the two-night rule and the deadline beside the credit, then set a reminder well before December. A reminder only helps if it leaves enough time to plan a stay that meets the rules.

Creddy can hold The Edit credit alongside the rest of your card benefits and show how much is left and how many days remain, without connecting a bank account. Your Chase account remains the place to confirm that a booking qualified and that the credit posted.

Before each new year, reopen the Sapphire Reserve benefit terms. Chase can change amounts, eligible hotels and booking rules, and an old note in a tracker is not a substitute for the current terms.
